There was also the option of a 1k or 2k fun run. Jasmine Stone took part in the 2k run and was first over the finish line. She won a trophy to match her dad’s. All runners concluded that it was a great event and vowed to return next year.
Elsewhere on the same day, Honiton runner Howard Bidmead took advantage of a honeymoon in Guernsey to compete in the RG Falla Guernsey Quarter Marathon being a 6.5 mile road race which takes place on the West coast of the Island at Vazon Bay. With a 10.30 start the temperature had already reached 20c. The course is an out and back along the seafront which was reasonably flat and making for a fast race. With over 150 runners Howard was pleased to finish in the top 20 with a time of 47m 46s.
