Lucky or what? A rise in temperature and heavy overnight rain cleared the Beast route of snow and ice and then the sun came out giving us wonderful views over the Blackdown Hills. Photos and full report on the Beast-13 page.

Thanks again for organising a fantastic run. I was a "Beast Virgin" and found it tough going but thouroughly enjoyed the run and hope to be back next year - with the Beauty in between of course. Highlights were the scenery and the mulled cider. Lowlights - the mud and ... er .. the mud!

4th year of doing the beast, hard going but had a great time. Shame I fell down and ended up having 7 stitches in my knee. But I did finish the 16+ miles. Thank you to everyone who helps to put on this event. I will be back.

Garry Perratt
Many thanks for yesterday's jaunt. It was indeed a great day out although I was suffering the effects of a hard 10-miler the evening before so struggled for the last 13 miles or so!

Ian Pennicott
What a brilliant event! Well done to everyone involved in the organising and running of it. Looking forward to the Beauty and hope you can let me know when I can book a place

I would just like to say a BIG Thank You to John and Roger, and all that helped today to make the muddiest run I have ever done, a great event. The W,I at Smeathharpe village hall did a great job of keeping all the runners fed and watered. And the Social Club at Dunkeswell where very accommodating.

‎17.2 miles off road. I have never ran in so much mud.. 3 hours 37 mins later I think I am going to just bin the socks x Thanks again Honiton Running Club x

Looking forward to seeing you again next year or maybe in The Beauty,
Thanks Again

Lisa Hatchard
A fantastic event. Well done everyone who contributed to the running of it and of course the fab company of the fellow runners.

Chris Isaac
Thoroughly enjoyed the run with my Jack Russell who was white at the start. Events like this with absolutely no pressure on finishing have massively improved my enjoyment of the sport, thank you.

Just survived @BlackdownsAONB Beast 17 miles of running on soggy fields, snow, bogs, steep hills, and 2 pubs + pasty. Great! Honiton RC

You did it again! another great event in even more indescribable mud than before! how do you do it? - the previous week we were covered in snow and ice and after the run it started to rain at 4.00pm BUT during the event we had just about perfect weather - well above us that was - being in ankle deep mud and water throughout is just part of what we expect isnt it! Thanks again to everyone involved - look forward to seeing you again on the Beauty......

Well done John & all the usual suspects at HRC.
wouldn't have missed it for anything. Very testing & enjoyable, still trying to thaw the feet out & de-mud the washing machine.
Those WI folks at Smeatharpe look after us so well in Summer & Winter. Nice to know the surplus money is going to to the village hall.
Hope the weather is a bit kinder for the Beauty, but you wouldn't lay odds on it!
