Hi Everyone
 
HOTEL
I am completing the hotel  booking for  Jersey and will be sending the complete booking list and final payments out to you all next week.   Final payments will be payable by mid August.   Any unconfirmed changes please let me know ASAP! 
(except Kevin, Wendy & Juliet who have organised their own bookings which is marvellous!)
 
RELAY
I also need to finalise teams and arrange a training night and social for all relay teams to get together - Team Captains ideas please !
 
Keep me in the loop on any team changes as I have been trying to recruit spare team members.  Look forward to hearing from you all.

Everyone is responsible for organising their own travel arrangements to Jersey. I am waiting to hear back from the organisers regarding registering our teams - either on line or by post, the site crashed today as I tried to gather the details. 
 
Either way I have nominated a Team Captain per team - the Team Captains will be responsible for registering their team. I will let Team Captains know about registering ASAP.
 
Each Team needs a Team Name. 

Teams - I have the teams below, the rough idea is to have one 'extreme' fast team and then three very good all round teams.   I have aimed to cover the majority of team requests I received.  If there are any major complaints then the is room for a swap here and there.
 
Top Reserve - Nick Bradley Carter.  Nick booked within seconds to spare of the deadline so I currently have a top reserve. This is a flexible arrangement depending how things go. Nick if you are happy to stay as reserve that's great or if you would rather enter the marathon just let me know.

HOTEL BOOKING AND CANCELATION INFO

Great news we have managed to secure an £79 room rate for the Merton Hotel.  Please find all the details below.
 
If people wish to stay just one or two nights it will be the same rate.
 
£79 Per Room per night B&B  based on 2 people sharing.

£30 deposit per person payable before the 19th December
 
Cost based on 4 nights £79 x 4 nights = £316 - £30 deposit per person = £60 =  £256 per room for 4 nights B&B based on 2 people sharing
 

The deposit will be taken from the full amount, full amount payable two weeks prior to arrival.

Please note the following charges will apply in the event of cancellation:

Up to 42 days prior to arrival: Booking deposit

29- 42 days prior to arrival: 50% of total charge

1 – 28 days prior to arrival 90% of total charge

no advice 100% of total charge

Event STANDARD CHARTERED JERSEY MARATHON 2013
Date: Sunday 6th October 2013
Race Options;   Marathon  / Relay Race  / Fun Run

The Race starts at 09.00hrs in St Helier and then takes you along country lanes, paved tracks and traffic-controlled roads. An enjoyable challenge for new runners and experienced competitors alike.
 
Relay Race
The Mourant Ozannes Relay Race starts at 09.30hrs in St Helier and takes you through some of the Island’s most scenic areas of country lanes, picturesque valleys and the beautiful coast of Jersey. You will be running along side competitors in the Marathon Race.
Teams of five runners compete on the full marathon course with sections varying form 4.8 to 11 kms. 
 
Fun Run
The 3K Fun Run starts at 10:00hrs in St Helier. A special two lap course around the streets of St Helier is designed just for the 3k Fun Run and the race is both a good competition and a fun way to take part in the day.
Also on the day spot prizes will be awarded for the best fancy dress costumes!
The 3k Fun Run is open to everyone over 9 years of age.

 
TRAVEL

Flights from Flybe range from £35. It is worth looking out for the flight sale as prices start from £5.00. Flight takes under an hour from Exeter.
